US Troops & Veterans
VETERAN APPRECIATION
In 2024 Wistaria members sponsored a Cookie Decorating Lollapalooza and created "masterpiece cookies" for delivery to our local veterans on Valentine's Day. The result of our efforts - "from novice blobs with sprinkles to amazing designs" - and it was an afternoon filled with laughter and fun! Lunch bags were given to local school children to decorate and to write valentine messages on, and then valentines and other miscellaneous goodies were inserted into the bags along with the cookies. Our sometimes forgotten and overlooked local Veterans were surprised and grateful to receive these gifts expressing our appreciation. This annual event provided over 300 packages to our heroes!
GOODIES FOR OUR VETERANS - 2023 MEMORIES

VETERANS STAND DOWN - 2022 MEMORIES
Our local Veterans Administration hosted a Veterans Stand Down, an event which concentrated on providing supplies and services to our local homeless Veterans. The wish list of the items they supplied to Wistaria Chapter directed our shopping efforts and helped us succeed in delivering a carload of items for the neediest of our heroes. How blessed we are to honor our heroes when they need us most.
GOODIES FOR OUR VETERANS - 2022 MEMORIES
Several projects that are dear to the hearts of many of our members revolve around the support of our US Troops and Veterans. Wistaria began an annual event to prepare and deliver goodies along with inspirational cards and letters from our local school kids to nearby Veterans on Valentine's Day.
Our members have filled packages with entertainment items and goodies for military personnel on deployment, and in partnership with our local Blue Star Moms chapter were able to ship them throughout the world.
Our members found a resource who repaired motorized wheelchairs and distributed them along with medical assistance items and eyeglasses to needy local Veterans at no-cost. Wistaria completed several deliveries of essential items to be included with his deliveries within our community.
